The council provides its members with opportunities to participate in various committees and working groups focused on international trade, tax policy, supply chain management, and national security. These committees play a pivotal role in formulating positions on crucial trade, tax, investment, and economic issues and coordinating advocacy efforts on behalf of the council. The council offers valuable information services to its members through email updates, including its trade and tax matters publication, which provides members with comprehensive insights into policy developments and the council's activities. The council's staff provides a variety of updates to keep senior management of member companies abreast of significant developments impacting u.s. International business, council stances on critical policy matters, and forthcoming events of particular significance. Longer briefs and public comments developed by staff in collaboration with the council's committee members reflect their expertise in the field.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4B

The council maintained its leadership role in addressing international tax policy issues by engaging with international organizations to influence global tax policy discussions, collaborating with the administration and congress to shape u.s. Tax legislation and regulations, and continuing to work on bilateral tax treaties. The council continued to lead on trade policy, including through its tariff reform coalition and its work to engage international organizations including the world trade organization and the oecd to facilitate multilateral trade policy initiatives. The council also continued to lead a unique coalition on national security and competitiveness issues. Building on nftc's history of leadership on export controls and sanctions issues, its alliance for national security and competitiveness help lead business community engagement on national and economic security policy issues and serves as a partner to the government to inform policymaking. The council continued its efforts in global supply chain policies to enhance transparency and predictability in import requirements. Balancing the roles of government enforcement and private- sector involvement through partnership and risk-management principles, these efforts aim to promote compliance with u.s. Trade laws, bolster supply chain resilience, and facilitate the efficient entry of lawful products and services. All these initiatives have provided critical information and support to the council's globally-engaged member companies.
