Further, the Labor Management Reporting and Disclosure Act prohibits Union officers from "holding or acquiring any pecuniary or personal interest which conflicts with the interest of such organization". (29 U.S.C. Sec.501). Any member may sue to enforce this provision. The governing body or a member may bring internal charges against an officer or employee for violating the conflict of interest policy. All such charges are investigated by the governing body.”
