“The organization was formed to provide funding from donors in the usa to programs managed and implemented by afrika tikkun south africa, a separate entity operating as a chartered non-governmental organization in south africa. Afrika tikkun south africa provides an integrated range of programs and services in severely disadvantaged communities. These programs focus on enabling hiv-positive, child-headed households, orphans, and other vulnerable youth from "cradle to career", and include food security, health services, education, life skills, job training, and job placement. Our aim is to empower communities to develop new generations of productive citizens and is achieved through a holistic development model. It is delivered from purpose-built centers of excellence within the townships in which we operate. The model starts with the support and care of infants in a vulnerable home situation and ends with contributing members of society. We deliver five core interrelated services that nurture, educate, and support children and youth who face various socio-economic challenges that deprive many of a decent childhood and place them in highly vulnerable environments. The five core areas that support a child's development needs over time are family support services, primary healthcare, early childhood development, child and youth development, and nutrition and food security. We actively seek parterships with othe ngos/governmental departments which optimizes our collective impact for the benefit of our communities. This covers in summary what we do with funds. Obviously specific amounts are dedicated to specific budget areas within the five key areas of focus which could be day camps for youth development or sports or computers or early childhood development. We track all donations to specific projects in south africa and have a system in place to report back to donors on progress being made.”
