“The form 990 is prepared by an outside accounting firm. It is reviewed by the president & ceo and the finance, audit, & investment committee. A complete copy of the form 990 is provided to all members of the organization's governing body prior to filing.”
“The organization has a conflict of interest policy which it consistently monitors and enforces. All directors, officers, and employees of the organization annually sign a copy of the organization's conflict of interest policy, disclosing any potential conflicts that may exist. The documents are submitted to the president & ceo who reviews the signed attestations. The board of directors determines whether a conflict of interest exists and decides whether the organization may enter into the proposed transaction or arrangement. The person with the actual conflict of interest is prohibited from voting on the matter giving rise to the conflict.”
“The compensation of the president and ceo is annually reviewed and approved by the executive committee of the board of directors. The committee uses form 990s of other organizations with a comparable mission and in a comparable market. The decision is contemporaneously documented in the minutes of the meeting. The process last occurred in january 2025.”
“The organization makes its governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements available to the public upon request.”
“The organization has a committee which assumes responsibility for the oversight of the audit of its financial statements and the selection of an independent accountant. The process has not changed from the prior year.”
“Wise recognizes the effect of income tax positions only if those positions are more likely than not to be sustained. Management is not aware of any violations of its tax status as organizations exempt from income tax, nor of any exposure to unrelated business income tax that would require financial statement recognition or disclosure. Wise is no longer subject to examinations by the applicable taxing jurisdictions for periods prior to 2022.”
