To accomplish its mission, the hunter college foundation engages in the following activities:- actively promotes hunter college, including all of its schools, programs, centers, and campuses- cultivates relationships that lead to funding- engages current and potential donors in the life of the college- manages investments judiciously- ensures that restricted funds are utilized for donor-restricted purposesareas of support include:- faculty recruitment, development, and retention- access for qualified students, including scholarships and fellowships- student support services- program development- material, technology, and equipment- facility development and maintenance

“The audit committee of the board of trustees reviews the form 990 with management and auditors and approves the form 990 for filing. Following audit committee approval and prior to filing, a copy of the form 990 is electronically delivered to each member of the board of trustees.”
“The conflict of interest and disclosure policy is distributed to board members at the initial meeting of the year. The board members review the conflict of interest and disclosure policy, sign the conflict of interest and disclosure policy annual statement and return the forms to the foundation. These forms are then reviewed by the audit committee. The conflict of interest policy covers any interested person who is a trustee, officer, key employee or member of a committee with powers delegated by the foundation's board. An interested person will disclose any potential conflict of interest to the executive committee and to the board or committee considering the proposed transaction or arrangement. The executive committee will determine whether a conflict of interest exists. After the interested person discloses the potential conflict of interest and all material facts, the interested person shall leave the executive committee meeting and the executive committee members shall decide and vote on whether a conflict of interest exists. If there is a potential conflict of interest, an interested person may make a presentation at the board or committee meeting but will then leave the meeting before the discussion and vote on the transaction or arrangement involving the possible conflict of interest. The chair of the board or committee will, if appropriate, appoint a disinterested person or committee to investigate alternatives.”
