“The working class project the working class project was founded in the fall of 2023. Its primary expenses were salaries, equipment, and books. Two staff members are part of this project. The working class project creates cultural activities that explore civil rights and democracy. Its work is in three major categories: organization, to help promote community engagement; mental health, wellbeing through the creation of support systems of culture, art, song, workshops and classes; and education to promote a deeper understanding of neighborhood, community, and regional ethnography and history emphasizing the experiences of ordinary people. The project includes supporting local community mini schools, mental health workshops, think tank discussions and writers exchange sessions. The 2024 activities generated over 8300 participations. In 2024, the project held over twenty online events, including a focus on mental health, writers' exchanges, book talks, and general discussions. Some of the highlights were a four-part series on philosophy and historical highlights, a two-part series on historical evolution, and programs, including poetry readings and writers workshops. In 2024, the project included over 30 volunteer teachers, discussion leaders, and presenters.”
“The labor education project the labor education project was begun at the end of 2023 and employs one staff person. It aims to build the tools, knowledge, and strategy needed to organize, resist exploitation, and fight for a world that puts people before profits the project achieved its goal in 2024 by contributing about sixty articles about labor to people's world, documenting strikes, union drives, and the growing movement for worker power. In 2024 it reported from major labor conventions such as the coalition of black trade unionists and provided coverage of the consequential united auto workers strike. It contributed to labor-focused pamphlets for pro-worker organizations, and labor classes on topics like union organizing, socialist labor strategy, and youth engagement in the labor movement. In june 2024, it helped organize a 70-person labor history tour in chicago, uniting u.s. And international trade unionists to explore the city's militant labor legacy-with plans for a similar project in detroit. The labor education project also works closely with worker collectives to develop rank-and-file education programs, fostering discussions on trade unionism, workplace organizing, and fighting back against corporate domination.”
“Schools project in the category of schools projects is the little red schoolhouse (lrsh), an in-person, all-volunteer event that aims to provide in-depth education and training for young activists. In 2024, the lrsh was held in new york city from july 26 to august 4, and hosted around 30 attendees, with 18 classes in total. The lrsh developed a strong, well-rounded marxist education curriculum, including classes on the working class and the battle for democracy, the united front against fascism, and the role of the young communist league. The fund helped support travel, educational materials, and housing costs. All of the schools projects aim to foster a deeper understanding of society and political economy, to build leadership skills and interpersonal relationships.”
