Through Street Outreach, teams of CHA outreach workers, peer outreach workers and volunteers hit the streets to provide teens with immediate assistance, such as food, bus tokens, socks and warm clothing, as well as information about CHA programs. After the initial contact is made, we work to establish relationships with each youth, and continue encouraging them to take advantage of CHA programs and services. Whether we're on foot, on bikes or in the Street Outreach van, our message is clear - we care about you and we want to help. Form 990, Part VI, Line 7a Covenant House Inc. The Crisis Center is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and all services are free of charge. With our open intake policy, no youth who comes to our door is ever turned away. We are never too full to welcome them in, and we are never too busy to talk.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0Rights of Passage (ROP) is one of Covenant House Alaskas (CHA) transitional living programs. It is designed to help homeless youth, ages 18 to 20, address the issues and responsibilities of adulthood, while receiving support and guidance from our staff and volunteer mentors in a residential setting. After graduating from ROP, our hope is that youth will be prepared to lead successful, independent lives. Upon graduation from ROP, youth receive assistance with locating and securing housing, as well as continued support as they transition to independent living. Youth are also eligible for after-care services, which assist them in stabilizing their lives once theyve moved into their new homes.
