“The international pediatric nephrology association, inc. (ipna) is a membership organization that has an international membership of over 1,000 pediatric nephrologists from 89 countries worldwide. Ipna promotes knowledge and communication among those interested in pediatric kidney disease in an effort to improve care and treatment of such diseases in children throughout the world. To accomplish these objectives, ipna pursues the following activities: (1) publication of a scientific journal, pediatric nephrology, which serves scientific and educational goals; (2) conduct a triannual international congress at which time all members from the basic sciences, clinical sciences and clinical care disciplines can meet to disseminate knowledge of pediatric nephrology; (3) support activities and development of regional medical meetings and training facilities in all areas of the world; (4) support and conduct basic science workshops and satellite symposia which stimulate interest in and disseminate information on new and innovative research and provide a forum to stimulate young physicians in pediatric nephrologic research; (5) support the training of young pediatricians interested in nephrology from the developing world; and (6) develop and support educational programs in pediatric nehprology for physicians actively involved in the care of children through regional and national pediatric associations.”
