TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE - CICATELLI ASOCIATES, INC. (CAI) DEVELOPS TRAINING PROGRAMS, CONFERENCES, ONLINE COURSES, TELECONFERENCES, AND WEBINARS THAT HELP PROVIDERS INCREASE THE EFFICIENCY AND QUALITY OF HEALTH CARE AND SOCIAL SERVICES. CAI OFFERS EXPERT TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO HELP AGENCIES ASSESS CURRENT OPERATIONS AND INTEGRATE EVIDENCE-BASED APPROACHES TO ACHIEVE HIGHER QUALITY, ENHANCE PROGRAM OUTCOMES, AND INCREASE COST EFFICIENCIES. Over the course of FY2023, Cicatelli Associates, Inc. (CAI) administered over 40 contracts, including 16 supported by federal funding, and 16 supported by state or local government. During this time, we conducted over 980 capacity building events, including trainings, learning collaboratives, and webinars; provided over 2,200 technical assistance (TA) sessions to support implementation of evidence-based and promising practices; led nearly 200 community-based events such as Advisory and Action Group convenings; and developed over 165 products such as curriculum, implementation guides and toolkits, publications, videos and more. Some notable achievements across CAI's portfolio of projects during this period include: - In FY23 CAI was awarded funding under the Community Health Worker and Health Support Worker Training Program (CHWTP). The purpose of the CHWTP is to support projects that will increase the number of Community Health Workers (CHWs) and Health Support Workers and equip them with the skillsets needed to provide effective community outreach build trust with communities, support connections to and retention in care and support services, and other strategies to increase access to care and to assist individuals in prevention services, and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and other public health emergencies in underserved communities. CAI's program is grounded in a comprehensive, participant-centered model that brings depth and intensity to our work with each CHW cohort and individual participant. Every aspect of our program-from participant recruitment, to classroom and on-the-job trainings, to supplemental support and coaching-is grounded in equity. Our recruitment strategy prioritizes potential trainees who may otherwise lack access to on-the-job training and workforce development opportunities. More specifically, we work closely with employers and community-based partners-many of which are based in and serve marginalized communities-to identify individuals interested in pursuing a health career. Unlike some traditional CHW training programs housed in academic institutions, we can recruit participants who are not already engaged in career or educational pathways. This creates new pathways to good jobs that would not otherwise exist for trainees. - CAI is contracted by the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry (AAAP) under their SAMHSA Opioid Response Network (ORN) grant to administer Project SUCCEED - Substance Use as a Chronic Condition Engagement and Education. SUCCEED helps providers engage people both before and after they are released from prison, deepening their understanding of addiction as a chronic condition and providing comprehensive, ongoing support that can include housing, treatment, and support groups. It also equips community based organizations to be a key resource for people in their first year after release from prison. In FY23, CAI provided 74 TA sessions to 11 different organizations. - Across New Jersey, and in New York City, Los Angeles, and Birmingham, AL, CAI is supporting healthcare organizations that serve people with HIV, substance use disorder, young LGBTQ+ people and others to implement Trauma Informed Care (TIC) into their organizational culture and practices. CAI uses a strengths-based approach, grounded in implementation science, that begins with leadership as a foundation and examines how to best integrate trauma-informed care into existing systems and create a trauma-responsive healing environment, supporting evidence-informed care th

Form 990, Part III, Line 4, Part 2

- Through our CDC funded Community Approaches to Reducing Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) (CARS) initiative in Jackson, MS CAI engages and supports community members and stakeholders in Jackson, Mississippi, through a community advisory board (CAB) of African American/Black young adults ages 21-27, to address STI disparities and social determinants of health. Through CAI's model of authentic community engagement, we support the CAB in working together and with other Jackson stakeholders to support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of an STI-focused intervention. This including conduct a community needs assessment, identifying social issues that contribute to STI disparities and working to understand the community's specific roadblocks to health equity. Finally, the CAB designs and then implements an intervention that addresses the challenges that have been brought to light. This process of authentically engaging the community ensures that the resulting intervention is crafted and led entirely by community members, which helps instill a sense of ownership in community health. In FY23, CARS Jackson facilitated 21 CAB meetings, many of which focused on assessing the progress and efficacy of their intervention - SAFE SPACE JXN - as well as building advocacy skills, planning for sustainability, and more. During this time, CARS JXN also conducted 14 TA sessions to support the community in implementation of activities, and developed two materials for conferences: Finding our Voice: Implementing a virtual community-led needs assessment to identify strategies for addressing STIs among African American/Black young adults in Jackson, MS and Can everyone see my screen? Successfully engaging community virtually during a pandemic. - As the Coordinating Center for the NYC Maternal Infant Health Outcomes Project (MIH), funded by the New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene, CAI helps providers and organizations improve health equity and outcomes through access to high-quality health education, case management, referrals, and health screenings. The project brings together 19 agencies across New York City to deliver intensive interventions to neighborhoods with the greatest disparities in maternal and infant health outcomes. These include support groups in the dominant spoken language, case management programs, one-to-one education and workshops, and referrals to food banks, mental health services, job training programs, and housing assistance. CAI provides training and TA to help agencies implement best practices in five key areas: breastfeeding, safe sleep, women's health, family planning, and toxic stress and trauma. In FY23, CAI administered trainings such as Parenting Support Group Facilitation Skills, Family-Centered Best Practices - Implementing a Strengths-Based Focus in Working with Parents, and Remote Foundations of PMAD Training; led a learning collaborative that covered topics such as increasing postpartum support, substance use disorders during and after pregnancy, and attachment and bonding; and conducted 144 TA sessions. - CAI's Center of Excellence for Protected Health Information (CoE-PHI), funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and administered in partnership with the Legal Action Center, helps health care practitioners, individuals, states, and communities understand and apply health privacy laws related to their work; and helps patients and families know what their rights are when seeking treatment for substance use disorders or mental health. The CoE-PHI makes this complex content easily understandable through a combination of training and TA services that include national and regional virtual training, individualized and group TA, peer-to-peer consultation, e-learning, and dissemination of resources and job aids to support implementation. In FY23, the CoE-PHI provided 56 TA sessions to 28 unique organizations and delivered 23 trainings covering topics s
