The organization has its form 990 prepared by an outside accounting firm and has established the following review process to ensure that the information reported is complete and accurate. When the form 990 is prepared and reviewed by the executive director and is ready to be filed with the internal revenue service, it is submitted to the members of the governing body for any comments or suggestions. The governing body is given one (1) week to review the 990 and submit their comments. Any comments are then summarized and provided to the executive director. Each issue is documented and addressed before the return is finalized and approved for filing.

THE FUND AND ITS AFFILIATED ENTITIES SHARE CERTAIN EXPENSES WHICH HAVE BEEN ALLOCATED AMONG THE ENTITIES BASED ON VARIOUS CRITERIA. MANAGEMENT HAS IMPLIMENTED TO WRITE OFF THESE COSTS TO NET ASSETS DUE TO THE COST BENEFIT OF ACCOUNTING AND DRAWING CHECKS TO THE RELATED ENTITIES.In 2024 the Association converted its software to Quick Books Online and as a result there have been adjustments to accounts receivable and write offs of old and stale checks which affected the net assets for the year.

IRS990/Desc0The Painting Industry Promotion Fund (The Promotion Fund)was created by virtue of federal Law and is included in the Collective Bargaining Agreement between The Association of Master Painters and Decorators of New York, Inc. (AMPD) and District Council 9, IUPAT, AFL-CIO [DC 9]. The Promotion Fund supports the activities of the AMPD in promoting the Painting and Decorating Industry. This includes, educating and training AMPD members through regular communication, in person and remotely held meetings as well as regular detailed updates on critical developments in the Industry. The Promotion fund also supports Association activities which foster productive communication and negotiation with Labor. These include an Annual convention, Annual Luncheon and Labor Management meetings. It also funds a competitive scholarship program for the sons and daughters of journey person employees.
