The resulting works were released to creative time's 79.5k twitter followers, 78k instagram followers, and 140k facebook fans, as well as featured on our website. Ct also partnered with local media agency flavorpill to promote ct comics 2020 to nyc audiences. The initiative highlights the comic as a means for communicating complex ideas about society, honoring the medium's long history of expressing the zeitgeist in times of war, distress, and upheaval. Further, the program affirms the vital importance of artists' voices in shaping contemporary discourse in the public realm. In september 2020, creative time introduced its most widespread public art commission to date. Responding to issues of value in the throes of covid-19, jill magid presented tender, disseminating 120,000 2020 issued pennies, the edges of which she engraved with the phrase, "the body was already so fragile". The text evokes the human body and the body politic, underscoring their interconnection during the pandemic. With an average circulation of 40 years, the project will exist as long as the pennies are in use. Magid participated in an online discussion, free and open to the public via zoom, on october 28, 2020 with creative time's executive director justine ludwig, and dia beacon's associate curator matilde guidelli-guidi. From december 17 to december 20th 2021, creative time presented allison janae hamilton's waters of a lower register, a 5-channel film installation set against the backdrop of the manhattan skyline on pier 3, brooklyn bridge park. This beautiful, lyrical work wrestled with climate change and the relationship of urban and rural settings. On december 17th, 2020, creative time hosted a virtual conversation with allison janae hamilton and joan morgan, director of the center for black visual culture at the nyu institute of african american affairs, discussing allison's practice and waters of a lower register. This discussion was available live to the public for free, included asl-interpretation, and is still available to access via creative time's website.”
