Mission

Greater centennial homes housing development fund company, inc., (the "project") was incorporated in july 1981, as a not-for-profit corporation, incorporated under the laws of the state of new york. (for continuation of mission statement - see schedule o). The project is sponsored by the greater centennial a.m.e. Zion church of the city of mount vernon. The principal purpose of the project is to provide housing for low and moderate income families and to demonstrate a continuing commitment to managing and preserving a viable source of quality affordable housing in mt. Vernon.

The project purchases management services from an unrelated management services corporation, the wavecrest management team, ltd. The wavecrest management team, ltd., as an agent for greater centennial homes hdfc provides the following services: manages, rents, leases and operates the property held by the project. No current or former officer, director, or key employee were compensated by the management company during the 2016 fiscal year. The management company was paid $134,012 for services during fiscal year 2016.

Greater centennial homes housing development fund company, inc. Has its form 990 prepared by an outside accounting firm and has established the following review process to ensure that the information reported is complete and accurate. When the form 990 has been prepared, reviewed by management and is ready to be filed with the internal revenue service, it is electronically sent to the managing agent, and board members of the organization for any comments. Any comments are then grouped, summarized and provided to the outside accountants. Each issue is documented and addressed until the return is finalized and approved for filing. The board of directors has the ultimate authority on the approval of the form 990.

Annually, every director, officer, or committee member is required to sign a conflict of interest policy. If a person believes that they have a conflict, they must disclose all the information to the directors of the governing board. The governing board will then discuss the potential conflict, and determine if one exists. If a conflict were to exist, that interested person will be removed from voting on the conflict till it is resolved. Any conflicts will be recorded in the minutes of the meeting.

PART IV, LINE 2B:

The organization holds security deposits from tenants in an escrow account. These deposits are returned to the tenant once they move out of the apartment.

PART X, LINE 2:

The entity recognizes the effect of income tax positions only if those positions are more likely than not to be sustained. Management has determined that the entity had no uncertain tax positions that would require financial statement recognition or disclosure. The entity is no longer subject to examinations by the applicable taxing jurisdictions for periods prior to june 30, 2013.
