“Provided research and information (4 major documents issued) to encourage land use patterns and uses of public waterways which support efficient mass transit, and reduce public subsidies for traffic-generating development in environmentally critical and disaster-prone areas; comment letters and testimony in support of upholding existing environmental laws. Main 2023 objectives included the preservation and organization of a major collection of documents to help prevent future storm and hurricane damage; reduce the emissions that cause air polluti0n and climate change; preserve rivers and marine habitats; encourage serious consideration of practical alternatives to environmentally damaging policies and projects and unfair and harmful public spending priorities; and counter disinformation. Longer term goals include all of these and better air quality and the slowing of climate change through more efficient energy use and improved transportation and land use patterns.”
