“The chapter has two voting classes of members: (1) professional/active and (2) life. (1) professional/active members: this class shall be composed of those persons who are professionally engaged in the television and media industry and its related fields within the new york metropolitan area. A professional member shall be obliged to pay dues and shall have the right, if in good standing, to vote and to hold office and shall be eligible to serve on committees. (2) life members: this class shall be composed of all past national chairmen of the board and past chapter presidents and such other persons as may be designated by an affirmative vote of two-thirds (2/3) of the members of the board of governors. Life members shall have all the rights of professional members, but shall not be obligated to pay dues. A chapter may, at its discretion, nominate a member for life membership. Any such nomination shall be subject to approval by the board of governors as provided above. The organization also has three non-voting types of members: (3) associate, (4) student and (5) honorary. While these types of members may not vote, they shall have the right to serve on committees and to act in advisory capacities if so appointed. Committee that shall investigate each applicant, screen the credits set forth in the application and determine the class of membership in which the applicant shall be placed, if any. Membership responsibilities may be delegated to an employee by the board of governors, with oversight by the board.”

“Per the chapter's bylaws, all governors and officers must, upon taking office, sign a conflict of interest form. If a potential conflict is reported, the audit committee shall make a determination as to whether a conflict exists within 30 days of it being reported. If it is determined that a conflict of interest exists then the board of governors and the executive committee will evaluate the specific facts and circumstances to determine if the transaction should be pursued. The interested person may, however, answer questions or respond to requests for factual information needed for the executive committee and board of governors to make an informed decision but may not participate in the meeting at which the board the national academy of television arts of governors and executive committee deliberates or takes action. At a minimum, potential conflicts are required to be disclosed annually.”
