Ywca yonkers has a residence of 49 single rooms, where supportive services are provided. Upon moving into the ywca, the new residents must meet with a case manager for an intake, and the resident is helped to identify their barriers to self-sufficiency. An individual living plan is designed and the case manager meets with residents twice monthly to ensure that residents are working on eliminating barriers, and looking for more appropriate permanent housing. Ywca conducts such workshops as life skills development, financial literacy, anger management, work readiness, etc. Which are conducted regularly. Ywca collaborates with other agencies to ensure the success of our residents. The ywca yonkers women's emergency drop-in shelter serves the homeless population of yonkers. We serve approximatley 45-50 homeless women on a daily basis. When women are entering the drop-in shelter, an intake is completed. Ywca of yonkers provides code blue/red services, meaning that the homeless women are not made to leave in the morning. We have a case management team that offers supportive services to the women with a focus on eliminating barriers. Ywca yonkers also works with the westchester county continuum of care to ensure permanent hud housing placement is available to the women utiizing the ywca yonkers drop-in. The women that utilized the drop-in shelter are given three meals a day and access to showers. They are able to utilized my sisters closet for clothing. We also provide transportation if necessary for medical and special service appointments as well as conducting workshops such as life skills, anger management, domestic violence, etc. The ywca operates a men's drop in shelter serving the homeless population of yonkers, because we work with families and men are a part of families. The program serves approximately 60 homeless men on a daily basis at the main shelter and 30+ men at an overflow shelter. The ywca of yonkers provides code blue/red services, meaning that the homeless men are not made to leave in the morning. A case management team offers supportive services to the men with a focus on eliminating barriers. They conduct workshops such as life skills, anger management, domestic violence, etc. The ywca yonkers also works with the westchester county continuum of care to ensure permanent hud housing placement is availble to them men utilizing the ywca yonkers drop-in. Shelter occupants are provided with three meals a day and access to showers. As well as transportation for medical and special service appointments.

Ywca senior nutrition program serves approximately 25 seniors. We serve as a vital resource center helping seniors navigate the sometimes confusing network of services available to them.we provide referrals for available community services to complement our on-site services. Regular program activities include exercise, bingo,movies, arts and crafts, music and computer, and activities that promote healthy lifestyles and preventive care. Health professionals such as visiting nurses, pharmacists, nutritionists and attorneys visit the program regulary to speak with the seniors about various issues that affect their specific population. The yyes work readiness program serves approximately 40 individuals on a six week rolling basis, offering skill-building workshops and training that was developed to address barriers to those seeking gainful employment. The ywca yonkers job readiness training program is a chort of soft and hard skills training, and community job fairs. This three pronged approach prepares participants to get, keep and excel at new jobs and also provides opportunities for the ywca yonkers to build relationships with employers. The yyes program provides participants with job-readiness skills that will ensure employment and self-sufficiency for themselves and their families. Program participants are monitored beyond program participation. Young individuals who received value education and mentoring services will be monitored for 12 months beyond the completion of the program to ensure their success and maintenance of employment. The ywca of yonkers food pantry and food distribution program served over 7,000 duplicated participants. Prior to covid-19 the organization utilized volunteers and the donations of generous community partners to meet the demands of the food pantry and food distribution. Since the start of the pandemic, the organizaton met the challenge of food shortage by partnering with feeding westchester. Ywca yonkers has historically operated the food pantry to distribute approx 8,000 lbs. Of fresh fruit, produce, non-perishable goods and meats to individuals and families three times a month.

Ywca youth leadership program known as p.e.a.r.l. Consists of 30 girls between the ages of 13-18 years old. This program teaches girls how to become self-sufficient, self-confident, empowered, educated, independent, responsible, socially conscious and culturally aware. With the main curriculum components being prevention, empowerment, academics, recreation and leadership, the program offers comprehensive training to help girls develop critical skills that will enable them to become powerful leaders and effective advocates for change. In a safe, supportive and culturally diverse environment, girls develop effective problem solving skills and are introduced to community advocacy, racial justice, and other pertinent issues affecting youth. The program operates monday through friday 3:30 - 6:30 pm. The clothing closet is a community based program that provides new and gently used business attire and accessories at no cost to the residents and the community. The ywca yonkers clothing closet's mission is to hep ensure that women feel empowered and confident without the additinal burden of not having professional attire for employment.

THE YWCA OF YONKERS PROVIDES CODE BLUE/RED SERVICES, MEANING THAT THE HOMELESS MEN ARE NOT MADE TO LEAVE IN THE MORNING. A CASE MANAGEMENT TEAM OFFERS SUPPORTIVE SERVICES TO THE MEN WITH A FOCUS ON ELIMINATING BARRIERS. THEY CONDUCT WORKSHOPS SUCH AS LIFE SKILLS, ANGER MANAGEMENT, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, ETC. THE YWCA YONKERS ALSO WORKS WITH THE WESTCHESTER COUNTY CONTINUUM OF CARE TO ENSURE PERMANENT HUD HOUSING PLACEMENT IS AVAILBLE TO THEM MEN UTILIZING THE YWCA YONKERS DROP-IN. UPON MOVING INTO THE YWCA, THE NEW RESIDENTS MUST MEET WITH A CASE MANAGER FOR AN INTAKE, AND THE RESIDENT IS HELPED TO IDENTIFY THEIR BARRIERS TO SELF-SUFFICIENCY. AN INDIVIDUAL LIVING PLAN IS DESIGNED AND THE CASE MANAGER MEETS WITH RESIDENTS TWICE MONTHLY TO ENSURE THAT RESIDENTS ARE WORKING ON ELIMINATING BARRIERS, AND LOOKING FOR MORE APPROPRIATE PERMANENT HOUSING. YWCA CONDUCTS SUCH WORKSHOPS AS LIFE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT, FINANCIAL LITERACY, ANGER MANAGEMENT, WORK READINESS, ETC. WHICH ARE CONDUCTED REGULARLY. YWCA COLLABORATES WITH OTHER AGENCIES TO ENSURE THE SUCCESS OF OUR RESIDENTS. THE YWCA YONKERS WOMEN'S EMERGENCY DROP-IN SHELTER SERVES THE HOMELESS POPULATION OF YONKERS. WE SERVE APPROXIMATLEY 45-50 HOMELESS WOMEN ON A DAILY BASIS. WHEN WOMEN ARE ENTERING THE DROP-IN SHELTER, AN INTAKE IS COMPLETED. YWCA OF YONKERS PROVIDES CODE BLUE/RED SERVICES, MEANING THAT THE HOMELESS WOMEN ARE NOT MADE TO LEAVE IN THE MORNING. WE HAVE A CASE MANAGEMENT TEAM THAT OFFERS SUPPORTIVE SERVICES TO THE WOMEN WITH A FOCUS ON ELIMINATING BARRIERS. YWCA YONKERS ALSO WORKS WITH THE WESTCHESTER COUNTY CONTINUUM OF CARE TO ENSURE PERMANENT HUD HOUSING PLACEMENT IS AVAILABLE TO THE WOMEN UTIIZING THE YWCA YONKERS DROP-IN. WE ALSO PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION IF NECESSARY FOR MEDICAL AND SPECIAL SERVICE APPOINTMENTS AS WELL AS CONDUCTING WORKSHOPS SUCH AS LIFE SKILLS, ANGER MANAGEMENT, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, ETC. THE YWCA OPERATES A MEN'S DROP IN SHELTER SERVING THE HOMELESS POPULATION OF YONKERS, BECAUSE WE WORK WITH FAMILIES AND MEN ARE A PART OF FAMILIES. THE PROGRAM SERVES APPROXIMATELY 60 HOMELESS MEN ON A DAILY BASIS AT THE MAIN SHELTER AND 30+ MEN AT AN OVERFLOW SHELTER. THE YWCA OF YONKERS PROVIDES CODE BLUE/RED SERVICES, MEANING THAT THE HOMELESS MEN ARE NOT MADE TO LEAVE IN THE MORNING. A CASE MANAGEMENT TEAM OFFERS SUPPORTIVE SERVICES TO THE MEN WITH A FOCUS ON ELIMINATING BARRIERS. THEY CONDUCT WORKSHOPS SUCH AS LIFE SKILLS, ANGER MANAGEMENT, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, ETC. REGULAR PROGRAM ACTIVITIES INCLUDE EXERCISE, BINGO,MOVIES, ARTS AND CRAFTS, MUSIC AND COMPUTER, AND ACTIVITIES THAT PROMOTE HEALTHY LIFESTYLES AND PREVENTIVE CARE. HEALTH PROFESSIONALS SUCH AS VISITING NURSES, PHARMACISTS, NUTRITIONISTS AND ATTORNEYS VISIT THE PROGRAM REGULARY TO SPEAK WITH THE SENIORS ABOUT VARIOUS ISSUES THAT AFFECT THEIR SPECIFIC POPULATION. THE YYES WORK READINESS PROGRAM SERVES APPROXIMATELY 40 INDIVIDUALS ON A SIX WEEK ROLLING BASIS, OFFERING SKILL-BUILDING WORKSHOPS AND TRAINING THAT WAS DEVELOPED TO ADDRESS BARRIERS TO THOSE SEEKING GAINFUL EMPLOYMENT. THE YWCA YONKERS JOB READINESS TRAINING PROGRAM IS A CHORT OF SOFT AND HARD SKILLS TRAINING, AND COMMUNITY JOB FAIRS. THIS THREE PRONGED APPROACH PREPARES PARTICIPANTS TO GET, KEEP AND EXCEL AT NEW JOBS AND ALSO PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE YWCA YONKERS TO BUILD RELATIONSHIPS WITH EMPLOYERS. THE YYES PROGRAM PROVIDES PARTICIPANTS WITH JOB-READINESS SKILLS THAT WILL ENSURE EMPLOYMENT AND SELF-SUFFICIENCY FOR THEMSELVES AND THEIR FAMILIES. PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS ARE MONITORED BEYOND PROGRAM PARTICIPATION. YOUNG INDIVIDUALS WHO RECEIVED VALUE EDUCATION AND MENTORING SERVICES WILL BE MONITORED FOR 12 MONTHS BEYOND THE COMPLETION OF THE PROGRAM TO ENSURE THEIR SUCCESS AND MAINTENANCE OF EMPLOYMENT. THE YWCA OF YONKERS FOOD PANTRY AND FOOD DISTRIBUTION PROGRAM SERVED OVER 7,000 DUPLICATED PARTICIPANTS. PRIOR TO COVID-19 THE ORGANIZATION UTILIZED VOLUNTEERS AND THE DONATIONS OF GENEROUS COMMUNITY PARTNERS TO MEET THE DEMANDS OF THE FOOD PANTRY AND FOOD DISTRIBUTION. SINCE THE START OF THE PANDEMIC, THE ORGANIZATON MET THE CHALLENGE OF FOOD SHORTAGE BY PARTNERING WITH FEEDING WESTCHESTER. YWCA YONKERS HAS HISTORICALLY OPERATED THE FOOD PANTRY TO DISTRIBUTE APPROX 8,000 LBS. OF FRESH FRUIT, PRODUCE, NON-PERISHABLE GOODS AND MEATS TO INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES THREE TIMES A MONTH.

WITH THE MAIN CURRICULUM COMPONENTS BEING PREVENTION, EMPOWERMENT, ACADEMICS, RECREATION AND LEADERSHIP, THE PROGRAM OFFERS COMPREHENSIVE TRAINING TO HELP GIRLS DEVELOP CRITICAL SKILLS THAT WILL ENABLE THEM TO BECOME POWERFUL LEADERS AND EFFECTIVE ADVOCATES FOR CHANGE. IN A SAFE, SUPPORTIVE AND CULTURALLY DIVERSE ENVIRONMENT, GIRLS DEVELOP EFFECTIVE PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS AND ARE INTRODUCED TO COMMUNITY ADVOCACY, RACIAL JUSTICE, AND OTHER PERTINENT ISSUES AFFECTING YOUTH. THE PROGRAM OPERATES MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY 3:30 - 6:30 PM. THE CLOTHING CLOSET IS A COMMUNITY BASED PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES NEW AND GENTLY USED BUSINESS ATTIRE AND ACCESSORIES AT NO COST TO THE RESIDENTS AND THE COMMUNITY.
