Mission

Community mayors, inc. Is an all-volunteer organization providing recreational therapy for children with special needs from the ny metro area for more than sixty years. Over 30,000 special children benefit each year from the numerous events organized and sponsored by the community mayors, including operation santa claus, summer camp scholarhip program, interactions with college athletes and outings to memorable places such as the bronx zoo, new york aquarium, intrepid sea air and space museum, and botanical gardens.

Major Activities

Activity 2
Recreation therapy - amusement parks - over 2,800 children enjoy games, rides and clowns at brooklyn's amusement parks.
Activity 3
Recreation therapy - aquarium and zoos:the new york aquarium, coney island, brooklyn: special needs kids from all boroughs tour the flora and fauna of the sea world. There is a private show and a toy for every child.the bronx zoo: two thousand special needs children from the bronx and manhattan spend a fun-filled day at this world renowned facility. The prospect park zoo, brooklyn: special needs children enjoy visiting the animals and going on rides.the staten island zoo: several hundred special needs childen enjoy the animals, clowns and a fun filled day.
