“Football & cheerleading program involving 250 children ages 5-14. Supervised practices two or more times per week, with games and cheerleading competitions on weekends with other local teams. We begin our practice season in july, and end in november. There are summer camps for both football and cheerleading. High school students who have aged out of our program are encouraged to stay and help coach and teach younger players. There are about fifteen of these teenage volunteers. Our cheerleading commissioners were instrumental in organizing an oversight group of regional coordinators to implement standards and safety rules for our local competitions which is ongoing and has been very successful.”
