Mission

To provide social services and benefit enrollments to the Boro Park community.

The boro park jewish community council (bpjcc), a leading nonprofit social service organization, is dedicated to enhancing the social, educational, and economic well-being of the boro park community. The organization provides comprehensive services, support, and advocacy with compassion, integrity, and cultural sensitivity. As a vital safety net, bpjcc offers essential programs - including food assistance, housing, healthcare, job placement, business support, safety initiatives, senior care, mental and physical health services and referrals - serving thousands annually. Through crisis intervention, counseling, training, and community initiatives, the bpjcc empowers individuals and families to thrive, fostering a stronger, more resilient community.

Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

Organization's process of review for form 990 the tax return preparer sends the executive director a draft copy of the completed tax return for the board of directors review and comment. After the board of directors approves the return the executive director notifies the tax return preparer and a final version of the return is sent to the executive director. The executive director then signs the e-file authorization form and returns it to the tax return preparer. The tax return preparer then e-files the return.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

Officers, directors, and key employees/persons are required to disclose any potential conflict of interest. Failure to disclose a potential conflict of interest or engaging in a practice determined to be a conflict-of-interest may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination. The directors, officers and key employees/persons are required to annually complete a conflict-of-interest form with an acknowledgment and certification of compliance with the conflict of interest policy.

The board reviews and approves the total compensation paid to (i) the principal executive officer and (ii) its top five highest compensated employees who are officers or key persons to determine that such compensation is not in excess of that which is fair, reasonable and commensurate with services provided to the organization.
