Education: Educate the public and healthcare providers on the need for early intervention. Support: Support patients by providing platforms for exchanging information and experiences. Advocacy: Urge legislators, government agencies and medical providers to deliver proper coverage, care and treatment for people with peripheral neuropathy. Research: Support and fund scientific research to find neuropathy's causes, treatments and cures. Encourage government and private industry alike to increase the resources dedicated to conducting neuropathy research.”

“Education services and awareness campaigns: educating the public and healthcare providers through our publications and communications programs such as our free on-line "Neuropathy E-News", as well as through our website, Facebook chats, social media outreach activities, webinars, support group network, and our Neuropathy Centers of Excellence network. The Neuropathy Association recognizes the need to educate the public and healthcare providers about neuropathy and the critical need for early intervention to improve diagnosis, care, and treatment. To meet this challenge, The Neuropathy Association publishes its free e-newsletter to promote better understanding of neuropathy's causes, increase awareness, and, in turn, pave the path for more effective therapies and cures. Our e-newsletter has over 35,000 subscribers, including patients, caregivers, medical professionals, researchers, donors, sponsors, and related community organizations. Our website had nearly 500,000 unique visitors in 2013. The Association's network of Neuropathy Centers of Excellence - representing hubs for neuropathy medical care and scientific research - consisted of 15 Centers in 2013. The Centers Network continued to explore ways to collaborate on research projects in addition to the community outreach efforts they work with the Association on. The Association's network of volunteer-led patient support groups across North America and around the globe also continues to grow. We currently have over 150 groups that host approximately 1,600 community events annually, each event averaging 30 attendees. An estimated 50,000 people participated in our support group community events in 2013, exchanging information and ideas for coping with neuropathy, learning from guest speakers in the healthcare field, and receiving educational materials from the Association. All of these efforts drive The Neuropathy Association's efforts to educate the public and bring awareness to neuropathy as an epidemic impacting millions in the U.S. and abroad.”
