SPECIFICALLY CRIME STOPPERS OF NASSAU COUNTY MEETS THESE REQUIREMENTS AS FOLLOWS: (I) TEN-PERCENT SUPPORT TEST - AS NOTED ON LINES 14 AND 15 ABOVE, CRIME STOPPERS PERCENTAGE OF PUBLIC SUPPORT FOR BOTH PRIOR YEARS WAS BELOW THE REQUIRED PERCENTAGES, 24.08% AND 24.07% . THE ORGANIZATION WAS FORMED IN 1994 AND UNTIL RECENTLY IT PASSED THE 1/3 SUPPORT TEST. (II) ATTRACTION OF PUBLIC SUPPORT - THE ORGANIZATION SOLICITS PUBLIC SUPPORT ON ITS WEBSITE:HTTP://WWW.NASSAUCOUNTYCRIMESTOPPERS.COM. IN ADDITION, THE ORGANIZATION HAS MADE EFFORTS TO RECEIVE DONATIONS FROM A BROADER SPECTRUM OF THE PUBLIC, AND IT WILL TAKE STEPS TO REACH OUT FOR MORE PUBLIC SUPPORT. (III)(A) PERCENTAGE OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT - AS INDICATED ABOVE THE ORGANIZATION'S PUBLIC SUPPORT IS SUBSTANTIALLY IN EXCESS OF 10%. (III)(B) SOURCES OF SUPPORT - THE ORGANIZATION HAS RECEIVED THE SUPPORT OF NUMEROUS DONORS OVER THE LAST 5 YEARS, REPRESENTING INDIVIDUAL FAMILIES AND SEPARATE BUSINESSES. IT FAILS THE MECHANICAL 1/3 SUPPORT TEST THROUGH THE GENEROSITY OF 12 INDEPENDENT UNRELATED FAITHFUL CONTRIBUTORS WHO BELIEVE DEEPLY IN THE CRIME STOPPERS PROGRAM AND EACH HAS MADE SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTIONS AS DESCRIBED IN SCHEDULE A, IDENTIFICATION OF EXCESS CONTRIBUTIONS. (III)(C) REPRESENTATIVE GOVERNING BODY - THE PROGRAM DIRECTOR IS A RETIRED DEPUTY COMMISSIONER OF POLICE, WHO RUNS THE PROGRAM IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE NASSAU COUNTY POLICE DEPT. THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS INCLUDES THE CHAIRMEN AND FORMER CHAIRMEN OF PUBLICLY HELD LOCAL, NATIONAL,AND INTERNATIONAL COMPANIES. THE BOARD MEMBERSHIP REPRESENTS THE FINANCIAL, ENTERTAINMENT, SERVICE AND RETAIL INDUSTRIES LOCATED ON LONG ISLAND AND THE SURROUNDING AREA. IT INCLUDES PUBLIC FIGURES AND LOCAL COMMUNITY LEADERS WHO ARE INVOLVED IN OTHER PHILANTHROPIC ENDEAVORS. THE BOARD REPRESENTS A BROAD SECTION OF THE VIEWS AND INTERESTS OF THE NASSAU COUNTY COMMUNITY. WHILE NOT AN OFFICIAL BOARD MEMBER, THE NASSAU COUNTY POLICE COMMISSIONER AND AS WELL AS SEVERAL OTHER HIGH RANKING POLICE OFFICERS AND DEPARTMENT HEADS ARE ALWAYS PRESENT AT BOARD MEETINGS AND PROVIDE INPUT TO ITS FUNCTION. IT IS WELL REPRESENTED AND SUPPORTED BY THE NASSAU COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT. (III)(D) PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IN PROGRAMS AND POLICIES - CRIME STOPPERS OF NASSAU COUNTY, INC. IS A COMMUNITY BASED ORGANIZATION, SEEKING PUBLIC INPUT IN REDUCING CRIME ON LONG ISLAND, NY AND SPECIFICALLY IN THE COUNTY OF NASSAU. THE ORGANIZATION HAS A MULTIMEDIA PRESENCE, INCLUDING FEATURES ON A LOCAL CABLE NEWS PROGRAM, IN LOCAL NEWSPAPERS, AND COORDINATION WITH A LONG ISLAND MAGAZINE. THE ORGANIZATION IS RECOGNIZED AS AN IMPORTANT ELEMENT IN FIGHTING CRIME BY THE NASSAU COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT AND HOLDS ITS BIANNUAL MEETINGS AT THE NASSAU COUNTY POLICE COMMISSIONER'S OFFICE, WHO ATTENDS AND COORDINATES THE MEETINGS, ALSO ATTENDED BY SEVERAL HIGH RANKING POLICE OFFICERS WHO DISCUSS THE POSITIVE EFFORTS FUNDED BY THE ORGANIZATION IN SECURING LEADS TO APPREHENDING CRIMINALS. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES THE PUBLIC A MEANS TO ANONYMOUSLY REPORT TIPS REGARDING CRIME, THEREBY INCREASING THE ODDS OF APPREHENDING CRIMINALS. THE PUBLIC JOINS IN COMBATTING CRIME AND PROTECTING THE SAFETY OF THEIR NEIGHBORHOODS. THE ORGANIZATION HAS BEEN CREDITED WITH ASSISTING IN THE ARREST OF NUMEROUS CRIMINALS AND HAS A POSITIVE EFFECT ON THE COMMUNITIES IN AND SURROUNDING NASSAU COUNTY, NY. DURING THE RECENT FISCAL YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2025, IT RECEIVED NUMEROUS TIPS FROM THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND MADE 14 REWARD PAYMENTS AS A RESULT OF THE INFORMATION PROVIDED IN THE TIPS LEADING TO ARREST AND CONVICTION.
