To collct, present and preserve social histories as a means to safeguard marginalized black societies int the field of art, human history and human rights. The institute maintains a moving image archive that provides public access to complelling stories and perspectives of cultures for the benefit of civil society engagement, global cultural literacy and social change. Activities include free and fee-based workshops, forums and exhibitions. Free language intensive after-school media workshops 7 weeks. The art of mathematical storytelling through personal projects. Lecture series: human rights in regions of conflict. Un commission on the status of women: international expert panel discussion. Griot's gate public history and culture program with invited guests.
