Northeastern is exempt from income taxes under 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. Northeastern has analyzed tax positions taken for filing with the internal revenue service and state jurisdictions where it operates. Northeastern does not anticipate any significant uncertain tax postions that would require recognition in the financial statements. Periods ending september 30, 2021 and subsequent remain subject to examination by the taxing authorities.
