“Inspired by the energy and diversity of our borough, brooklyn children's museum (bcm) creates experiences that ignite curiosity, celebrate identity and cultivate joyful learning. Each week, the museum hosts public programs, school field trips, and performances that introduce young learners to visual arts, dance, music, gardening, and many other disciplines. Through formative cultural experiences, brooklyn children's museum seeks to lay the foundation for a lifetime of arts and culture appreciation and engagement. The museum is committed to making its exhibits and programs accessible to all children, offering free hours on thursdays; free admission to families enrolled in head start programs; free memberships for ebt and idnyc cardholders; and, free admission for families of military service members and veterans, firefighters, police officers, teachers and healthcare workers. Approximately half of bcm visitors attend for free or at a reduced rate, with over 33% served at no charge in fy 2024. It is the museum's policy never to turn a visitor away for inability to pay the admission.”

“In december, the museum opened nature's engineers as a new stem-inspired makerspace. Nature's engineers aims to inspire a new generation of problem solvers and innovators by connecting them with nature's intricate systems and cycles. With its mission rooted in guided inquiry and creativity, the space promises a unique, hands-on learning experience that blends the exploration of the natural world with stem principles. Additionally, in october the museum opened "airmaze" in the neighborhood nature area. Airmaze is a 20-foot-tall pressurized air system consisting of over 250 feet of tubes, valves, and blowers. Children are invited to insert various types of objects and navigate them through its clear pathways. Watch as balls and scarves zip and twist their way through the maze while using the valves to influence their direction. This dynamic exhibit brings to light the unseen elements of everyday life, offering a sensory experience emphasizing movement, color, and sound.”
