“Membership is made up of undergraduate members at collegiate campuses around the country.”

“Every two years half of the positions are open for election on the board of directors. There is a nominating committee that is chaired by the past president, two at large members and executive director. All of the applications are reviewed and a slate of board members is recommended for the board of directors and the voting body consider at the national business meeting. In addition anyone could run for an office from the floor of the business meeting and challenge the slate. When the board is established they are sequestered after the business meeting is concluded and they elect the executive committee. Ex-officio counts the votes along with the national secretary and inform the board of the results. The newly elected president or returning president is sworn in at the ordo banquet later that evening. There are term limits for the board of directors. No board of director may serve on the board for more than 12 years. At that time they need to step off for one election cycle.”

ALL OF THE APPLICATIONS ARE REVIEWED AND A SLATE OF BOARD MEMBERS IS RECOMMENDED FOR THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND THE VOTING BODY CONSIDER AT THE NATIONAL BUSINESS MEETING. IN ADDITION ANYONE COULD RUN FOR AN OFFICE FROM THE FLOOR OF THE BUSINESS MEETING AND CHALLENGE THE SLATE. WHEN THE BOARD IS ESTABLISHED THEY ARE SEQUESTERED AFTER THE BUSINESS MEETING IS CONCLUDED AND THEY ELECT THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE. EX-OFFICIO COUNTS THE VOTES ALONG WITH THE NATIONAL SECRETARY AND INFORM THE BOARD OF THE RESULTS. THE NEWLY ELECTED PRESIDENT OR RETURNING PRESIDENT IS SWORN IN AT THE ORDO BANQUET LATER THAT EVENING. THERE ARE TERM LIMITS FOR THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS. NO BOARD OF DIRECTOR MAY SERVE ON THE BOARD FOR MORE THAN 12 YEARS. AT THAT TIME THEY NEED TO STEP OFF FOR ONE ELECTION CYCLE.
