The organization's board of directors hired a new audit firm in the current year and they oversee the audit process.

Effective january 1, 2019, community partners for affordable housing converted to an illinois llc and changed its name to cpah clt llc. The sole member of cpah clt llc is an illinois not-for-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt corporation with fein #36-3086133 originally known as lake county residential development corporation ("lcrdc"). (at the same time as community partners for affordable housing changed its name to cpah clt llc as part of its conversion to an llc, lcrdc changed its name to community partners for affordable housing.) as a result of the conversion of the original community partners for affordable housing into an llc wholly-owned by the re-named lcrdc, the original community partners for affordable housing will no longer be filing a separate 990, but will be included in the 990 filing of the re-named lcrdc as a disregarded entity. The final return box was not checked on p. 1 of this 990, as the converted legal entity will continue to exist as a separate legal entity for state law purposes. Also, cpah clt llc will continue to use its pre-conversion tax identification number.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The organization follows the guidance in the fasb codification topic related to uncertainty in income taxes which prescribes a comprehensive model for recognizing, measuring, presenting and disclosing in the financial statements uncertain tax positions that cpah has taken or expects to take in its tax returns. Under the guidance, cpah may recognize the tax benefit from an uncertain tax position only if it is "more likely than not" that it is sustainable, based on its technical merits. The tax benefits recognized in the financial statements from such a position should be measured based on the largest benefit that has a greater than 50% likelihood of being realized upon ultimate settlement with a taxing authority having full knowledge of all relevant information. Cpah believes that it has appropriate support for the positions taken on its returns and does not believe the consolidated financial statements include any uncertain tax positions.
