Organization officers and the board retain full control and oversight responsibilities.”

“The form 990 is reviewed by the chief financial officer and controller for completeness and accuracy prior to submission to the governing body. A complete draft of the form 990, including all schedules and attachments, is then provided to the full board of directors for review. Board members are given the opportunity to ask questions, request clarification, or recommend changes. After addressing all comments, the final form 990 is approved for filing. The organization maintains documentation of the review and approval process.”

Annually, the agency requires all staff to complete a competency-based training on ethics and compliance which also includes conflicts of interest. Board members are also required to sign a conflict disclosure statement.”
