Betterment of school community, providing enrichment programs, activities and school supplies for students while giving parents and faculty the opportunity to work together to supplement and enrich the educational experience for each child.

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
OUR MUSICAL PROGRAM, ALLOWS ALL FIFTH GRADERS TO AUDITION AND VOLUNTARILY PARTICIPATE IN AN ANNUAL STAGE MUSICAL. THE FIFTH-GRADERS PERFORMED SEUSSICAL. THIS PROGRAM ENABLES STUDENTS TO BUILD ON ALL ASPECTS OF THEIR CLASSROOM MUSIC EDUCATION. IN ADDITION, STUDENTS LEARN ABOUT VARIOUS ASPECTS OF THEATER INCLUDING ACTING, SINGING, DANCING/CHOREOGRAPHY, SET DESIGN, BACKSTAGE CREW WORK AND PLANNING. STUDENTS PARTICIPATING IN SET DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION ALSO BUILD ON THEIR ART AND MATH SKILLS. THIS PROGRAM IS PROVIDED FOR BOTH EDUCATION AND SOCIAL ENRICHMENT, AND ENABLES STUDENTS TO BUILD SELF-CONFIDENCE, WORK COOPERATIVELY IN SMALL AND LARGE GROUPS AND ENCOURAGE PUBLIC SPEAKING SKILLS IN A FUN ENVIRONMENT. IN ADDITION OUR SCHOOL TALENT SHOW FOR 3RD. 4TH AND 5TH GRADERS ALSO ENABLES CHILDREN TO BUILD SELF-CONFIDENCE BY SHOWING OFF SOME OF THEIR UNIQUE SKILLS AND ABILITIES. FOR CULTURAL EVENTS, THE THIRD AND FOURTH GRADE CLASSES ONCE AGAIN PARTICIPATED IN THE LEARNING TO LOOK ART APPRECIATION PROGRAM WHICH CULMINATED WITH VISITS TO THE YALE ART MUSEUM. THE ENTIRE STUDENT POPULATION WAS ABLE TO ENJOY A LIGHT SHOW IN OUR AUDITORIUM FOR BLACK HISTORY MONTH.$0$23,596
THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, THE PTO HAS ALLOCATED FUNDS TOWARD THE ENRICHMENT AND APPRECIATION OF ITS FACILITY. THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS ACTIVITY IS TO SHOW THAT THE TEACHERS HARD WORK IS VALUED AND TO RECOGNIZE THEIR LASTING CONTRIBUTIONS TO EDUCATION, SOCIETY, AND THE LIVES OF THEIR STUDENTS. TO CONVEY APPRECIATION TOWARDS THE FACILITY MULTIPLE EVENTS ARE HELD INCLUDING THE WELCOME BACK BREAKFAST, CLASS DONATIONS, APPRECIATION WEEK, AND THE END OF YEAR LUNCH.$0$14,975

THE FIFTH-GRADERS PERFORMED SEUSSICAL. THIS PROGRAM ENABLES STUDENTS TO BUILD ON ALL ASPECTS OF THEIR CLASSROOM MUSIC EDUCATION. IN ADDITION, STUDENTS LEARN ABOUT VARIOUS ASPECTS OF THEATER INCLUDING ACTING, SINGING, DANCING/CHOREOGRAPHY, SET DESIGN, BACKSTAGE CREW WORK AND PLANNING. STUDENTS PARTICIPATING IN SET DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION ALSO BUILD ON THEIR ART AND MATH SKILLS. THIS PROGRAM IS PROVIDED FOR BOTH EDUCATION AND SOCIAL ENRICHMENT, AND ENABLES STUDENTS TO BUILD SELF-CONFIDENCE, WORK COOPERATIVELY IN SMALL AND LARGE GROUPS AND ENCOURAGE PUBLIC SPEAKING SKILLS IN A FUN ENVIRONMENT. IN ADDITION OUR SCHOOL TALENT SHOW FOR 3RD. 4TH AND 5TH GRADERS ALSO ENABLES CHILDREN TO BUILD SELF-CONFIDENCE BY SHOWING OFF SOME OF THEIR UNIQUE SKILLS AND ABILITIES. FOR CULTURAL EVENTS, THE THIRD AND FOURTH GRADE CLASSES ONCE AGAIN PARTICIPATED IN THE LEARNING TO LOOK ART APPRECIATION PROGRAM WHICH CULMINATED WITH VISITS TO THE YALE ART MUSEUM. THE ENTIRE STUDENT POPULATION WAS ABLE TO ENJOY A LIGHT SHOW IN OUR AUDITORIUM FOR BLACK HISTORY MONTH.

THE PTO ALSO PROVIDES GRADE-LEVEL SUBSCRIPTIONS TO PUBLICATIONS SUCH AS SCHOLASTIC NEWS AND TIME FOR KIDS AND SCIENCE MATERIALS. IN ADDITION WE HAVE HOSTED THE FIRST SCIENCE FAIR AT OUR SCHOOL WITH PARTICIPATION FROM SEVERAL 3RD, 4TH AND 5TH GRADERS. TO BUILD OUR COMMUNITY WE HAVE FURTHER HOSTED SEVERAL EVENTS, INCLUSIVE OF FAMILY MOVIE NIGHTS, WINTER DANCE, BREAKFAST DONUTS FOR GROWNUPS AND OUR END OF SCHOOL SOCIAL. WE ALSO REQUEST SEVERAL DONATIONS FROM FAMILIES LIKE HOLIDAY FOOD DRIVES, WINTER COAT DRIVES, HALLOWEEN COSTUME DRIVES AND BOOK DRIVE FOR BOOK FAIR AS WELL AS DONATIONS FOR CLOTHING.
