The governor's prevention partnership equips, empowers and connects organizations, communities and families to prevent substance abuse, underage drinking and violence among youth and promotes positive outcomes for all young people in connecticut.

To develop and promote prevention strategies, interventions and public policies that reduce risks to our youth and promote positive outcomes.

A REVIEW OF DATA FROM SCHOOL YEAR ENDING IN JUNE 2017 OF THE EDCORPSCT SPECIALIZED MENTORING PROGRAM IN HARTFORD SHOWED THAT CHRONIC ABSENTEEISM AT THE SCHOOL WAS REDUCED BY 9% AND 75% OF YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE PROGRAM INCREASED ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE. THE PARTNERSHIP ALSO PROVIDED CONTINUED SUPPORT AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO ENSURE EFFECTIVE PROGRAMMING TO MORE THAN 150 MENTORING PROGRAMS SERVING THOUSANDS OF YOUNG PEOPLE.
