“Conflict of interest statements are updated annually and reviewed for potential conflicts. The coi policy applies to board of directors officers and directors, and to staff. The chair (president) of the board is responsible for monitoring compliance. The methods of resolving actual or potential conflicts shall include, but not be limited to, the following: 1. Where the nature of the conflict is such that the individual involved is not able to disclose the details thereof without breaching other confidences, he may upon notice to the president of the charter oak cultural center remove himself from all meetings, discussions and actions at which the matter is considered. 2. Where the details of the conflict can be disclosed, the president may determine the proper action alone, or if he deems it desirable, in consultation with the board of directors. 3. Any interest, relationship or participation in a transaction which is fully disclosed in writing to, and is approved in writing by the president of the charter oak cultural center shall not be deemed to involve a conflict of interest for purposes of this statement of policy. 4. When it is concluded that a conflict actually or potentially exists, action may include suspension in whole or in part of the individual's duties with the charter oak cultural center for such period of time and/or as to such matters as may be deemed appropriate by the president, or requesting the resignation of the individual from his or her charter oak cultural center position.”
