“The tiverton yacht club inc. Is governed by a board of directors and officers according to published bylaws. There are subcategories of membership including family, couple, senior and single, all of which are afforded the same rights and status. Applicants for membership are approved by the board of directors. Elections, appointments and vacancies to the board of directors and officer roles are managed by the nominating committee and subject to general membership approval. Through its bylaws, tyc members have the rights and processes to propose changes to the bylaws, call special meetings,and attend all directors meetings.”

Directors have 3 year terms and open positions are filled through a nomination process by members at its annual meeting in october of each year. The board of directors approves nominated members. Tyc operates under its bylaws which are approved, amended or removed by the board of directors after notice of proposed changes to the membership.”
