| The Nazareth Firemens Relief Association (NFRA) also provides the following benefits to its members: To pay for such normal and reasonable running expenses as may be appropriate to the businesslike conduct of the affairs of the association To purchase contracts of insurance for active NFRA members against losses due to injury suffered in the fire service To maintain a beneficiary or death benefit fund To pay for costs and forwarding tokens of sympathy and goodwill to a firefighter who is ill or hospitalized To make cash payments to families in distressed circumstances by reason of age, infirmity or other disability suffered by one of the family members in the course of participation in fire service To acquire and maintain membership in any Statewide association or corporation which extends assistance to firefighters To contribute or purchase contracts of insurance for rehabilitating a volunteer firefighter who suffered a major impairment due to participation in fire service To pay for medical and surgical bills arising from injuries sustained by volunteer firefighters while engaged in activities of the fire company To pay reasonable expenses for firefighter training To purchase safeguards for preserving life, health, and safety of volunteer firefighters to ensure their ability to participate in fire service To secure insurance against liability for loss and expense from claims arising out of official performance of official and authorized duties To maintain comprehensive health, physical fitness and physical monitoring programs To purchase exercise and fitness equipment To purchase fire hoses and nozzles To purchase fire prevention materials for public distribution To pay reasonable expenses for attending bona fide emergency medical technician or paramedic trainingAll activities conducted by the NFRA are conducted by its Board Qualifications for the Board are as follows:1: Membership in this association shall be composed of all active members in good standing of the Vigilance Hose Company No. 1 (Active, Life, Auxiliary and Junior Members).2: All members in good standing may vote at a regular meeting of the membership.Section 3: Membership in this association may be terminated upon the resignation from membership with Vigilance Hose Company No. 1.All activities conducted by the NFRA benefits the members of the Vigilance Hose Company No. 1 of Nazareth. All activities are sanctioned in accordance with Act 84 of 1968 and Act 118 of 2010. It is difficult to estimate on an annual basis the number of hours needed to conduct the activities of the NFRA. The organization does conduct a monthly meeting and will meet as needed. Special and emergency meetings can be called if deemed necessary. All the time the organization meets is dedicated solely to organization business. The NFRA receives an annual allotment from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This is the only source of funds raised by the organization. The money goes from the Commonwealth to the Borough of Nazareth, who then divides the allotment to the fire companies in the Borough. The NFRA does have a cash balance that it can also draw from for expenditures. Members of the Board do not receive any compensation for serving on the Board, and all proceeds go directly to funding our stated causes. Our activities benefit the members of Vigilance Hose Company No 1 and their families in time of need or crises. “The Nazareth Firemens Relief Association provided long and short term health care benefits and death benefit coverage to the membership of the Vigilance Hose No 1 Fore Company in Nazareth. The Association carries various and pays for various insurance policies. The cost of these policies is $7694. We also provide and maintain firefighting equipment for the members The combined costs of the equipment is $16544. WE deal with Lehigh Valley Fire Equipment and DiVAL for the purchases, repairs, maintenance & upkeep”

| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 1 | The purpose of this Nazareth Firemens Relief Association is to provide relief benefits for its members who suffer temporary or permanent disability from sickness, accident or injury arising from participating in fire company activities and to provide assistance to the families of active members who die as a result of these activities while an active member of the association. The association shall also provide funds to purchase and supply necessary equipment, safeguards, and training for preserving life, health and safety for all members so as to ensure their availability to participate in the volunteer fire service. All provisions will be in strict compliance with Act 84 of the 1968 and Act 118 of 2010 as enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In addition, the Nazareth Firemens Relief Association (NFRA) also provides the following benefits to its members: To pay for such normal and reasonable running expenses as may be appropriate to the businesslike conduct of the affairs of the association To purchase contracts of insurance for active NFRA members against losses due to injury suffered in the fire service To maintain a beneficiary or death benefit fund To pay for costs and forwarding tokens of sympathy and goodwill to a firefighter who is ill or hospitalized To make cash payments to families in distressed circumstances by reason of age, infirmity or other disability suffered by one of the family members in the course of participation in fire service To acquire and maintain membership in any Statewide association or corporation which extends assistance to firefighters To contribute or purchase contracts of insurance for rehabilitating a volunteer firefighter who suffered a major impairment due to participation in fire service To pay for medical and surgical bills arising from injuries sustained by volunteer firefighters while engaged in activities of the fire company To pay reasonable expenses for firefighter training To purchase safeguards for preserving life, health, and safety of volunteer firefighters to ensure their ability to participate in fire service To secure insurance against liability for loss and expense from claims arising out of official performance of official and authorized duties To maintain comprehensive health, physical fitness and physical monitoring programs To purchase exercise and fitness equipment To purchase fire hoses and nozzles To purchase fire prevention materials for public distribution To pay reasonable expenses for attending bona fide emergency medical technician or paramedic training |
