IRS990/Desc0OPEN DOORS ACADEMY (ODA) IS A DEVELOPMENTAL OUT-OF-SCHOOL ENRICHMENT PROGRAM THAT IS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE A SAFE, NURTURING ENVIRONMENT PROMOTING ACADEMIC, EMOTIONAL, AND SOCIAL ENRICHMENT FOR MIDDLE-SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. ODA WORKS TO NURTURE, PROTECT, INSPIRE AND CHALLENGE ADOLESCENTS TO REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL. WE REALIZE THIS MISSION BY ENSURING OUR SCHOLARS RECEIVE FULL SUPPORT AND RESOURCES TO NAVIGATE MIDDLE SCHOOL, HIGH SCHOOL, POST SECONDARY, AND BEYOND. A FEW POINTS OF OUR SUCCESS INCLUDE: OUR STUDENTS PERFORM: OUR STUDENTS DEMONSTRATE A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN STANDARDIZED TEST ASSESSMENT SCORES-DUE TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF TEST-PREPARATORY PROGRAMMING INCLUDING PRACTICE TESTS, WORKSHOPS TO IMPROVE TEST-TAKING SKILLS, AND ACTIVITIES THAT TEACH THE STUDENTS TO MANAGE TEST-TAKING ANXIETY. OUR STUDENTS SUCCEED: EVERY STUDENT WHO HAS COMPLETED AT MINIMUM 3 YEARS IN THE OPEN DOORS ACADEMY PROGRAM HAS GRADUATED FROM HIGH SCHOOL, AND 97% OF OUR GRADUATES ARE PURSUING POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION AND PROGRAMMING. WE ARE PROUD TO HAVE ALUMNI PRESENT AT HARVARD, PURDUE, CORNELL, OHIO STATE, AND COLUMBIA, AMONG MANY OTHERS. IN ADDITION, OUR FIRST CLASS OF COLLEGE GRADUATES EMERGED AND EACH OF 20 GRADUATES IS CURRENTLY GAINFULLY EMPLOYED.OUR STUDENTS DEMONSTRATE A COMMITMENT TO THEIR OWN SUCCESS:OF THE STUDENTS ENROLLED IN OPEN DOORS ACADEMY, 75% OF STUDENTS RETURNED FOR THEIR SECOND YEAR OF PROGRAMMING AND 77% RETURNED FOR THEIR THIRD YEAR IN THE PROGRAM. OF THOSE WHO GRADUATED OUT OF THE HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI PROGRAM, 97% ENTERED COLLEGE OR POST HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATION.OUR FAMILIES ARE COMMITTED:AT THE CAMPUSES WHERE PARENTS WERE MOST HIGHLY INVOLVED IN MEETING SERVICE ENGAGEMENT REQUIREMENTS, WE SAW THE HIGHEST STUDENT PERFORMANCE LEVELS, ILLUSTRATING A DIRECT CORRELATION BETWEEN FAMILY SUPPORT AND ACADEMIC SUCCESS. OF THE 353 PARENTS SERVED LAST YEAR, 92% OF MIDDLE SCHOOL PARENTS AND 100% OF HIGH SCHOOL PARENTS PARTICIPATED IN AT LEAST 16 HOURS OF PROGRAMMING. OUR PROGRAMMING IS HOLISTIC AND ADDRESSES SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT:WE CONTINUE TO STRENGTHEN THE INFRASTRUCTURE OF THE PROGRAM MODEL, REFINING OUR STANDARDIZATION MANUAL THAT CLEARLY DEFINES A LEVEL OF EXPECTATIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITY ACROSS ALL OF OUR INDIVIDUAL CAMPUSES. WE ALSO CONTINUE TO BUILD UPON OUR PERFORMANCE BASED OUTCOMES THAT CLEARLY ALIGNS OUR METRICS TO OUR SHORT-TERM AND LONG-TERM GOALS, AND CREATED INFRASTRUCTURE FOR ACCURATELY TRACKING AND ANALYZING DATA.CONTINUED GROWTH:WE EXPANDED OUR HIGH SCHOOL COLLEGE / POST-SECONDARY PREP PROGRAM, ADDING ACT/SAT PREP COURSES, A GLOBAL EDUCATION CURRICULUM, AND EXPANDED OUR SERVICE LEARNING PLATFORM TO INCLUDE AN INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE IN HONDURAS. WE ADDED 2 MORE MIDDLE SCHOOL CAMPUSES IN THE CLEVELAND METROPOLITAN SCHOOL DISTRICT.
