Mission and Program Overview

Mission

We are a non-profit corporation that works with local businesses, residents and community organizations to revitalize our local business district (dorchester ave. From mercier ave. To melville ave.) and to strengthen our community. The purpose of smams is to promote andenable the economic revitalization of the saint mark's commercial district. Smams strives to improve the economy and the aesthetics of the st. Mark's community through building rehabilitation, community reinvestment and business recruitment. The act of revitalizing the st. Mark's commercial district will impart economic and social benefits to the st. Mark's community as well as to the residents of boston and surrounding areas. Smams creates opportunities for local businesses enabling residents to obtain jobs and services locally and offering additional choices in service providers to visitors and residents of the area.
