The corporation is organized exclusively for tax-exempt charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of section 501(a)and section 501 (c)(3) of the internal revenue code of 1986, as amended and chapter 262 of the new hampshire revised statutes annotated, as amended. The corporation is not a private foundation within the meaning of internal revenue code section 509(a). During the year ended june 30, 2025, the corporation had no unrelated business income and therefore, no provision for income taxes is made in the financial statements. Contributions to the corporation are deductible as allowed under section 170(b)(l)(a)(vi) of the code. Any corporation informational return filings are subject to audit by irs, generally for three years after filing. Part ii line 2, the corporation now serves as the holder of 16 conservation easements and owner of 3 properties. Easements acquired by the corporation are conservation easements that restrict the use and development of land not owned by the corporation. Because they cannot be sold and therefore have no marketable value to the corporation, they are not recorded as assets on the statement of financial position. All easements acquired by purchase are reported as conservation expenses. With each easement, the corporation takes on the responsibility to monitor activity on the land and enforces easement restrictions. Owned properties are capitalized on the statement of financial position when title conveys to the corporation.
