“The organization has contracted with an outside management company so that the management company will handle organization of the biennial congress with the related revenues and expenses. The management company also handles the organization's membership dues and maintains the website and membership lists.”

If a conflict of interest should arise, the bylaws (section 9 - resignation and removal) state that "whenever, in the judgement of the board of directors, the best interests of the isrs will be served, any member may be removed from office by two-thirds vote of the members of the board of directors in office, at any meeting of the board of directors duly called at which a quorum is present."”

“The international stereotactic radiosurgery society (isrs) was founded as a worldwide organization in 1991 and remains the only professional body of its kind. Created to foster learning and research on the topics of brain and body radiosurgery, the society is highly dedicated to: 1. Promoting technical developments in stereotactic radiosurgery 2. Promoting the highest levels of clinical expertise 3. Convening every two years at the isrs congress. The isrs fosters technical development and research on the topics of brain and body radiosurgery by holding biennial congresses, maintaining a website, and other activities to encourage the exchange of information.”

“The isrs organizes and holds a biennial congress to encourage interaction among international communities of healthcare professionals dedicated to the advancement of stereotactic radiosurgery and to give them the opportunity to broaden and develop their knowledge with fellow professionals. In addition to other activities at the biennial congress, the isrs makes certain awards for contributions in the field of radiosurgery, scientific papers, and posters. During this year, the organization held its congress, in may 2024 in new york city. Over 700 neurosurgeions, radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and others from over 55 countries were present at the biennial congress. In alternate years, isrs organizes interim meetings to maintain currency in education for its members.”
