Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7A

The Governing Committees of the Automobile Insurers Bureau of Massachusetts and the Workers Compensation Rating and Inspection Bureau of Massachusetts have the authority to each appoint five members of the Insurance Fraud Bureau's Board of Governors. The remaining five Board of Governors seats are filled by public officials as required by statute.

Each officer, employee and Board of Governors representative annually reviews the conflict-of-interest policy, agrees to comply with its terms and disclose any personal or financial interest in IFB transactions and the actions taken to manage any conflict of interest or appearance of impropriety. The IFB will annually review the adequacy of this policy and consistently enforce compliance with its requirements. The IFB will maintain records of the individuals who have a financial interest in IFB transactions, and the actions taken to manage any conflict of interest or appearance of impropriety.
