The process has not changed from the prior year

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The project is exempt from federal income tax, under section 501(c)(4) of the internal revenue code. However, income from certain activities not directly related to the project's tax-exempt purpose is subject to taxation as unrelated business income. In addition, the project has been classified as a project that is not a private foundation under section 509(a)(2). The project had no unrelated business income for 2024. The project recognizes and measures its unrecognized tax positions in accordance with fasb asc 740, income taxes. Under the guidance, the project assesses the likelihood, based on their technical merit, that tax positions will be sustained upon examination based on the facts, circumstances and information available at the end of each period. The measurement of unrecognized tax positions is adjusted when new information is available, or when an event occurs that requires a change. Interest and penalties associated with unrecognized income taxes, if identified, will be classified as interest expense and income taxes, respectively, in the statement of activities and changes in net assets. Management has not identified any uncertain tax positions at december 31, 2024. The project is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions, however, there are currently no audits for any periods in progress or pending.

UNDER THE GUIDANCE, THE PROJECT ASSESSES THE LIKELIHOOD, BASED ON THEIR TECHNICAL MERIT, THAT TAX POSITIONS WILL BE SUSTAINED UPON EXAMINATION BASED ON THE FACTS, CIRCUMSTANCES AND INFORMATION AVAILABLE AT THE END OF EACH PERIOD. THE MEASUREMENT OF UNRECOGNIZED TAX POSITIONS IS ADJUSTED WHEN NEW INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE, OR WHEN AN EVENT OCCURS THAT REQUIRES A CHANGE. INTEREST AND PENALTIES ASSOCIATED WITH UNRECOGNIZED INCOME TAXES, IF IDENTIFIED, WILL BE CLASSIFIED AS INTEREST EXPENSE AND INCOME TAXES, RESPECTIVELY, IN THE STATEMENT OF ACTIVITIES AND CHANGES IN NET ASSETS.
