Mission

Maot provides a professional network for its members while developing and preserving occupational therapy as a profession. Maot serves the interests of its members by representing the profession to the public and promoting better access to, and understanding of, occupational therapy. Maot has historically provided leadership and direction to move its profession forward. Maot is a volunteer organization run by its members. It is through the professional and dedicated service of the many hundreds of occupation therapists through massachusetts that occupational therapy is viewed as vital to helping individuals, including the elderly, children and the disabled to lead independent, satisfying and productive lives.

Form 990-ez, Part III, Line 28

Some of maot's most significant program service accomplishments include the spring and fall conferences. Maot was able to provide an opportunity for all occupational therapy (ot) practicioners to network and attend continuing education events to assist the consumers they work with. Maot was present at lobby day at the state house in april (ot month) where maot provided education to ot practicioners on how a bill becomes a law, how ot/otas can get involved and what legislation maot is involved in.
