“There is only one class of members. All members have voting rights.”

“Every year a few new members are elected to the Club. Nominations of new members are made in the first Saturday in October followed by an election of new members on the third Saturday of the same month. New members must be voted in by a majority of existing members present at a meeting that satisfies quorum requirements.”

“The board of trustees and directors review the Forms 990 and 990-T before they are filed.”

“James Aufiero is the treasurer of the Club. He is the only management person to receive any type of compensation from the Club. He keeps the Clubs financial records and prepares its payroll tax returns. He received $ 8,625 in 2023 for his services.”

“The directors and trustees approve the compensation of the treasurer who does bookeeping, prepares all financial statements, and files the tax returns. The only officer or key employee on the payroll is the Treasuer who was paid $ 8,625 in 2023.”

“The Club files a copy of its annual financial statements reviewed by a CPA with the Division of Public Charities, Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In addition, copies of current and past financial statements may be viewed by the public by sending in a written request to the Treasurer, Dante Club, 5 Dante Terrace, Somerville, MA 02143. A copy of Form 990 along with Massachusetts Form PC is filed with the Massachusetts Division of Public Charities. This form is made available by the state to the general public.”
