Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4A

The cupboard is responsible for feeding individuals and families in the local and surrounding communities in need of food. Statistics have fluctuated through the years on the families we serve. Qualified recipients of our food programs typically include individuals and families who's household income falls within the emergency food assistance program (tefap) guidelines or are experiencing an emergency situation that prevents them from obtaining their nutritional needs through other resources. The goal is to provide nutritious food in order to supplement nearly a month's worth of meals. Over 150 volunteers provide their time each week to operate the cupboard. Accomplishments for the reporting fiscal year included hiring an assistant warehouse manager, keeping up with the demand of food insecurity, and hiring a capital campaign company to prepare for purchasing a building. Top program accomplishments for fiscal year july 1, 2023 - june 30, 2024: -we hired a new warehouse maanger - our food inventory is better streamlined. -we added a new fundraising event "cars and coffee" to our list. Cars and coffee was a 1 month event held at the maine mall. Individuals could bring their car to show off. Food and coffee trucks were available at each event. -we had our first donor appreciation event to thank our donors for their generosity. Instead of asking for money that evening, we told them about the spfc and the power of their generosity to help in "feeding neighbors in need". -we added a collaboration with the captain's cupboard (smcc's food pantry). -we help to provide fresh produce as well as breads and sweets.

STATISTICS HAVE FLUCTUATED THROUGH THE YEARS ON THE FAMILIES WE SERVE. QUALIFIED RECIPIENTS OF OUR FOOD PROGRAMS TYPICALLY INCLUDE INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES WHO'S HOUSEHOLD INCOME FALLS WITHIN THE EMERGENCY FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (TEFAP) GUIDELINES OR ARE EXPERIENCING AN EMERGENCY SITUATION THAT PREVENTS THEM FROM OBTAINING THEIR NUTRITIONAL NEEDS THROUGH OTHER RESOURCES. THE GOAL IS TO PROVIDE NUTRITIOUS FOOD IN ORDER TO SUPPLEMENT NEARLY A MONTH'S WORTH OF MEALS. OVER 150 VOLUNTEERS PROVIDE THEIR TIME EACH WEEK TO OPERATE THE CUPBOARD. ACCOMPLISHMENTS FOR THE REPORTING FISCAL YEAR INCLUDED HIRING AN ASSISTANT WAREHOUSE MANAGER, KEEPING UP WITH THE DEMAND OF FOOD INSECURITY, AND HIRING A CAPITAL CAMPAIGN COMPANY TO PREPARE FOR PURCHASING A BUILDING. TOP PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS FOR FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 2023 - JUNE 30, 2024: -WE HIRED A NEW WAREHOUSE MAANGER - OUR FOOD INVENTORY IS BETTER STREAMLINED. -WE ADDED A NEW FUNDRAISING EVENT "CARS AND COFFEE" TO OUR LIST. CARS AND COFFEE WAS A 1 MONTH EVENT HELD AT THE MAINE MALL. INDIVIDUALS COULD BRING THEIR CAR TO SHOW OFF. FOOD AND COFFEE TRUCKS WERE AVAILABLE AT EACH EVENT. -WE HAD OUR FIRST DONOR APPRECIATION EVENT TO THANK OUR DONORS FOR THEIR GENEROSITY. INSTEAD OF ASKING FOR MONEY THAT EVENING, WE TOLD THEM ABOUT THE SPFC AND THE POWER OF THEIR GENEROSITY TO HELP IN "FEEDING NEIGHBORS IN NEED". -WE ADDED A COLLABORATION WITH THE CAPTAIN'S CUPBOARD (SMCC'S FOOD PANTRY). -WE HELP TO PROVIDE FRESH PRODUCE AS WELL AS BREADS AND SWEETS.
