The organization has general members made up of pharmacies across the state of mississippi.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7A

The organization is divided into nine districts. Each district nominates a district chairman and the members of that district elect their district chairman to sit on the board of directors. In addition, there are four at-large members who are voted on by the entire membership of the organization to sit on the board of directors. Each district chairman once elected appoints the officers of the organization.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7B

Periodically a polling process will be used to poll the members of the organization on a specific issue. In this instance, the board of directors instructs the executive director to prepare and send a letter to the members of the organization explaining the situation. Each member of the organization is given several options to vote on. This process is done approximately once a year by mail or fax.

The form 990 is prepared by the organization's independent certified public accountants and reviewed by the organization's executive director. A copy of the organization's final form 990 (including required schedules) is provided to each voting member of the organization's governing body. The organization's governing body reviews the form 990, approves the form 990 for filing with the internal revenue service, and authorizes officers of the organization to execute the form 990 on behalf of the organization.
