Mission

The purpose of the corporation shall be to to encourage and support sugar making and sugar makers in the continuance of there craft; to educate and inform the public about the art of sugar making and the benefits to individuals and local communities; to provide a conduit for shared information among current sugar makers and the interested public; and for all other purposes in which an organization may engage as an organization qualifying as an organization exempt from federal income taxation under section 501 (c) (3) of the internal revenue code and the applicable statutes of the state of vermont.

IN KEEPING WITH OUR NON-PROFIT STATUS, WE HAD BOOTHS AT THE TUNBRIDGE WORLDS FAIR, THE VERMONT SHEEP AND WOOL FESTIVAL AND THE BLUE GRASS FESTIVALS. AT THESE FUNCTION'S WE HAD MAPLE DEMONSTRATIONS, EXPLAINED HOW WE MAKE MAPLE SYRUP AND OTHER PRODUCTS AND USES FOR MAPLE SYRUP. IN ADDITION TO EDUCATING THE PUBLIC THE MANY USES OF MAPLE SYRUP, THE MONEYS RAISED AT THESE ACTIVITIES HAS BEEN SPENT THIS YEAR TO EDUCATE PEOPLE. WE HAVE GIVEN OUT SCHOLARSHIPS TO HELP SUPPORT STUDENTS GOING TO COLLEGE THAT WE FEEL CAN BETTER OR SUPPORT THE MAPLE INDUSTRY, GIVEN MONEY TO OTHER ORGANIZATION FOR THE USE OF THERE HALLS OR CHURCH FOR OUR COUNTY MEETINGS AND OTHER MEETINGS. WE HAVE ALSO GIVEN MONEY TO COVER GAS EXPENSES TO THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF VERMONT MAPLE SUGAR MAKER ASSOCIATION FOR HER ROLE IN GOING AROUND THE STATE TO EDUCATE PEOPLE ABOUT MAPLE. Form 990-ez, Part III, Line 28

In keeping with our non-profit status, we had booths at the tunbridge worlds fair, the vermont sheep and wool festival and the blue grass festivals. At these function's we had maple demonstrations, explained how we make maple syrup and other products and uses for maple syrup. In addition to educating the public the many uses of maple syrup, the moneys raised at these activities has been spent this year to educate people. We have given out scholarships to help support students going to college that we feel can better or support the maple industry, given money to other organization for the use of there halls or church for our county meetings and other meetings. We have also given money to cover gas expenses to the executive director of vermont maple sugar maker association for her role in going around the state to educate people about maple. In addition we give money to former vt dept. Of agriculture maple specialist to cover his gas expenses to judge maple syrup at fair event and the maple grading school he teaches. We also donate to fund to the randoplph technical center scholarship in support of there maple program scholarship.

AT THESE FUNCTION'S WE HAD MAPLE DEMONSTRATIONS, EXPLAINED HOW WE MAKE MAPLE SYRUP AND OTHER PRODUCTS AND USES FOR MAPLE SYRUP. IN ADDITION TO EDUCATING THE PUBLIC THE MANY USES OF MAPLE SYRUP, THE MONEYS RAISED AT THESE ACTIVITIES HAS BEEN SPENT THIS YEAR TO EDUCATE PEOPLE. WE HAVE GIVEN OUT SCHOLARSHIPS TO HELP SUPPORT STUDENTS GOING TO COLLEGE THAT WE FEEL CAN BETTER OR SUPPORT THE MAPLE INDUSTRY, GIVEN MONEY TO OTHER ORGANIZATION FOR THE USE OF THERE HALLS OR CHURCH FOR OUR COUNTY MEETINGS AND OTHER MEETINGS. WE HAVE ALSO GIVEN MONEY TO COVER GAS EXPENSES TO THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF VERMONT MAPLE SUGAR MAKER ASSOCIATION FOR HER ROLE IN GOING AROUND THE STATE TO EDUCATE PEOPLE ABOUT MAPLE. IN ADDITION WE GIVE MONEY TO FORMER VT DEPT. OF AGRICULTURE MAPLE SPECIALIST TO COVER HIS GAS EXPENSES TO JUDGE MAPLE SYRUP AT FAIR EVENT AND THE MAPLE GRADING SCHOOL HE TEACHES. WE ALSO DONATE TO FUND TO THE RANDOPLPH TECHNICAL CENTER SCHOLARSHIP IN SUPPORT OF THERE MAPLE PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIP.
