Volunteer practitioners are the heart of our service model. In 2024 over 52 volunteers gave their time, valued at 189,396, to serve our patients or support our general operations.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4A

Since 1994, the people's health and wellness clinic has provided free and low-cost health care to central vermonters who have no insusrance or cannot afford to see a doctor. Our volunteer doctors, nurses, dentists, and other health professionals offer compasisonate, high-quality care to those who would otherwise go without. We provide a full range of services, including primary medical care, dental hygiene, chiropractic and massage therapy, health care navigation, and dental extractions. The clinic also offers mommogram and pap screenings, tobacco, cessation support for those who want to quit, and parnerships that help people with substance use disorder connect to recovery programs and community resources. In 2024 the clinic served 672 unique patients - 235 of them new to phwc - for a total of 2,015 patient interactions. These included 666 medical visits, 452 dental visits, 327 consulations, and 85 health care navigation sessions. Our volunteers are the heart of the clinic. In 2024 alone, they provided 171,396 of professional medical/dental services and 18,000 of administrative services - an extraordinary show of generosity and commitment to health care as a human right.

WE PROVIDE A FULL RANGE OF SERVICES, INCLUDING PRIMARY MEDICAL CARE, DENTAL HYGIENE, CHIROPRACTIC AND MASSAGE THERAPY, HEALTH CARE NAVIGATION, AND DENTAL EXTRACTIONS. THE CLINIC ALSO OFFERS MOMMOGRAM AND PAP SCREENINGS, TOBACCO, CESSATION SUPPORT FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO QUIT, AND PARNERSHIPS THAT HELP PEOPLE WITH SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER CONNECT TO RECOVERY PROGRAMS AND COMMUNITY RESOURCES. IN 2024 THE CLINIC SERVED 672 UNIQUE PATIENTS - 235 OF THEM NEW TO PHWC - FOR A TOTAL OF 2,015 PATIENT INTERACTIONS. THESE INCLUDED 666 MEDICAL VISITS, 452 DENTAL VISITS, 327 CONSULATIONS, AND 85 HEALTH CARE NAVIGATION SESSIONS. OUR VOLUNTEERS ARE THE HEART OF THE CLINIC. IN 2024 ALONE, THEY PROVIDED 171,396 OF PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL/DENTAL SERVICES AND 18,000 OF ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES - AN EXTRAORDINARY SHOW OF GENEROSITY AND COMMITMENT TO HEALTH CARE AS A HUMAN RIGHT.
