“Part 1, line 1 mission cont. The organization provides an enviorment where active and retired members of the fdny can proudly display and participate in their ancestral heritage of music and camarderie while they entertain their fellow fdny members and the public at large at innumerable public and civic events. The org. Is able to perform these activities by providing educational opportunities to its members by enriching cultural awareness and by performing at charitable functions. The org provides free tuition to active and retired members so they may further their bag pipe and drum skills. The org brings in qualified instructors so that its members skills are reinforced. Education is therefore a primary activity engaged by the organization and consumes hundreds of man hours per year. Part 1, line 1 continues. The organization provides charitable activities at church socials, hospitals,community fund raising events and public events honoring our nations miilitary veterans, memorial services for deceased membersof the fdny, family day events for widows and childre of fdny members killed in the line of duty and similar events. The org is honored to be the public face of the men and women of the fdny as they persom these sometimes solemn but honorable activities. Part 111, line 4a first accomplishments. The fdny band performs at numerous memorials, dedications, funerals and various other events. Fdny band performed at the following events as well as many others: fdny funeral services, fdny medal day and memorial days, nyc, bayridge, bethpage,pearl river, great neck st patrick day parades. Great neck, little neck, breezy point memorial days. Mt kisco and rosly vol firefighters parage, long beach parade, hunter mountain festival and fdny emeral society pipes and drums celebration event as well as sept 11 memorials. The fdny band has been requested to attend to honor those who sacrified their lives honorably in the performance of their duty. It also enlightened others to the dangerous occupation and corageous efforts of the nyc firefighters. Part 111, line 4d all other accomplishments.
