“(Policies) Bylaws are reviewed annually and always available for review / consult by board members. Article III of the Bylaws of Paws for Life NC defines "Conflicts of Interest" which outlines the obligation of the board members in this regard.”

“(Disclosure). The organization does not make its governing document (i.e. Bylaws) or financial statements available to the public, but is willing to share upon request. On the "Our Story" section of the pawsforlifenc.org website, there is a Financial Disclosure section. Eight years of our 990 filings are available under the 990 Tax Documents section of the website. This section references the availability of financial information and licensing information through the NC Secretary of State.”

“Paws for Life NC adoption fees of $82,446 covered 30% of medical and care expenses incurred for rescue dogs and cats. The remaining 70% of expenses was covered, in part by the revenue generated by fundraising events noted herein, but also by numerous fundraising activities whose detail is not requested in the 990 document. These activities included targeted medical Facebook campaigns, other in-person and online fundraising activities, solicited grants, solicited corporate and individual donations. More detail on these other fundraising activities is available on request.”

“One raffle was held and the W2-G winnings for the winner was under $5,000 so no withholdings were required.”

“Paws for Life NC is a 100% volunteer organization. Of the $334,860 expenses in 2025, 93% was attributed to direct animal care and supportive care of our foster animals and veterinary services for our SNIF program. Fundraising expenses comprised 2% of expenses and these funds were required for effective fundraising events. Administrative expenses of 5% were required for insurance and professional services, shelter pull fees, storage rental fees, software/IT, online banking fees, printing and advertising.”
