Information as to rate structures, utility load distribution, power supply and growth in power supplies are typical of the information tracked by the association. This information is used by the association members on the macro level for planning with respect to industrial trends and individual member appearances before the maine public utilities commission and other regulating bodies. The association members use the information provided by the association on a micro level for the purposes of strategic planning and day-to-day business decisions with respect to energy usage.

THE MEMBERS' INTERESTS ARE DIVIDED INTO THREE BASIC AREAS OF ACTIVITY, THE PUBLIC UTILITIES, THE LEGISLATIVE AND INFORMATION ARENAS. THE ASSOCIATION INTERACTS WITH MAINE PUBLIC UTILITIES TO PROVIDE ITS MEMBERS WITH REASONABLE AND STABLE UTILITY RATES AND IMPROVED CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SUPPORT FROM MAINE PUBLIC UTILITIES. THE ASSOCIATION REPRESENTS ITS MEMBERS' COLLECTIVE INTERESTS BEFORE LEGISLATORS AND REGULATORY COMMISSIONS.
